Extract from film : L'amant, from the book of Marguerite Duras I saw the film first and didn't like it much. Then I read the book and loved Duras' writing from the start. In the film, In the film Jane March is impossibly beautiful and not at all the little fifteen year old scrubber of the book, with a mother who doesn't care and a boarding school which cares even less. It's a beautiful book. |
