This extract from the 20 heures of France 2 illustrates neatly that an ordinary news item can contain some very difficult material - here the voices of pilots talking on the radio

3 When I first heard this little piece on Lance Armstrong, from France 2 news, I thought it was a level 1 and destined for the new site listentofrench.org. However, while I managed to transcribe it, it took quite a while, and many repetitions. The style is florid, and the speaker's voice indistinct in a way I can't quite define. See what you think

9 Brice de Nice is a cult film, a film for adolescents, a French film, and a very funny film, thanks to Jean Dujardin. As an exercise for listening comprehension, it's hard, but the dialogue for the most part is pretty clear. Strange how difficult it is to recognise English words used trendily by the French

10 Laurent Gerra interviewed by Christopher Hondelatte in a documentary called L'impertinence à la télévision. This I find very hard. The discussion is very relaxed and indistinct, the sound quality from the stage is fairly poor. But there are some good jokes
