Level   Description
.5  Gérard Depardieu in Tous les matins du monde. This extract illustrates how content can throw you, even if the speech is slow and clear. Towards the end there is a section where I do not properly follow the sense - and the result is that some words are not understood.

.0 Le froussard héroique. Here is Malcolm McDowell in Royal Flash,  the unacceptable face of English heroism and thus no doubt richly appreciated by our French cousins.

.0 C'est la vie camarade. French comedy, and here is a modestly paced discussion which is not too difficult

.0 Frost - Nixon. I was greatly impressed by this film which  recreates the famous interview. This is the moment where Nixon (allegedly) phoned Frost just before the last interview on Watergate

.0  Paris brûle-t-il. Celebrated war movie which demonstrates how the Americans and General De Gaulle liberated Paris. But the dialogue is clear.

.0  A sketch from Un gars et une fille, the long-running France 4 comedy series with the excellent Jean Dujardin. Young couple, relaxed dialogue. Not too difficult, very funny.

.0  A classic comedy La vie est un long fleuve tranquille. French comedy tends to be good humoured fun : there are not many that show this level of dark humour.

.0  Hors de prix  Excellent comedy with a very dishy Audrey Tautou. She uses a very intimate, familiar type of delivery that makes it quite hard to follow

.0   Cuisine américaine.  Very fast delivery, and a real; test for the ear

.0  Not a film, but an extract from the long-running French soap, Plus Belle La Vie. I see they've acquired a real villain who is the local bank manager, the main theme is a scandal of environmental pollution, and we're being impressed with the importance of passing your Bac. All life is there...
