I have a folder on my PC called 'Shelved'. That's where extracts go which
I start, then think that I can't put them on the site because I just
haven't understood sufficiently myself, or that what I am writing is

listening practice are precisely those that are just a bit too hard, and
also because one can return to such exercises after a year when,
hopefully, the ear will have improved and one can start to fill in the
holes. On this page I am going to post such extracts.

the Internet, so we also have the corrected version as subtitles. If
you haven't done this before, download both files (by clicking on
the top half, then the bottom half of the image) to the same
directory. Your video software will then display the subtitles |

At a pinch this could have gone on
the Theatre page, but the sound quality, and the rapidity of the
delivery of one of the actresses made this very difficult. It's from
the play Journal à quatre mains. I
think it makes a good, albeit frustrating exercise
