| Mon PC prend la parole is a
software application which reads a Word or Internet document out loud. The
voices are not synthetic - there is a dictionary database of spoken words
which supports a Frenchwoman - Isabelle, and a Frenchman - François:
The pronunciation is extremely clear, but of course, the speech is
a little stilted, with occasional confusion of homophones. I hope that Isabelle and François will help learners at an intermediate level to make a bridge between this sort of clear French that you only hear in news broadcasts, documentaries , and French classes; and the real French of the street and Films and TV, which is much more difficult to understand. Wherever you see a link to François or Isabelle on the site, you will be able to download a 'simplified' version of the extract read by one of these nice people, which I hope will help you to understand the authentic extract Good luck! |
